a)  i)  Possess a Bachelor Degree (Hons.) or its equivalent in Statistics / Mathematics / Economics or other related field recognised by the Government of  Brunei Darussalam.

 

Higher qualification in the above or related field is an advantage.

 

ii)       Has a minimum of twelve (12) years working experience, preferably in national or international office, in the collection, compilation, analysis and dissemination of statistical data.

 

iii)     In-depth technical knowledge and expertise in social and economic statistics and indicators, including compilation and analysis procedures.

 

iv)     Wide knowledge and understanding of international standards on statistical concepts, definitions and classifications.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES [ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF STATISTICS]

 

1.       Introduce and formulate a Medium Term Statistical Development Plan for Brunei Darussalam by outlining a 3-5 year work plan for priority areas to be developed to support the country’s socio-economic development.

 

2.       Advise on the development of new sources of basic economic statistics including a program of regular industry-specific enterprise/establishment surveys.

 

3.       Establish the compilation of volume and price indices for the industrial and services sector which include construction index, wholesale and retail sales index, industrial production index and producer price index.

 

4.       Establish the compilation of the breakdown categories for the Personal Consumption Expenditure (PCE) based on the Classification of Individual Consumption According to Purpose (COICOP).

 

5.       Establish the compilation of the breakdown categories for the Government Consumption Expenditure (GCE) based on the Classification of Functions of Government (COFOG).

 

6.       Establish the data sources and methodology towards the compilation of the Gross National Income (GNI) and National Saving of the Brunei Darussalam.

 

7.       Establish the framework for an Input-Output Table for Brunei Darussalam.

 

8.       Design and conduct a regular in-house training program for all levels of the statistical personnel including the training of trainers to enhance their knowledge and skills in core areas of statistics, particularly sampling methodology and data analysis, as well as the use of ICT in the collection, compilation and dissemination of statistics.

 

9.       Assist in conducting briefing sessions to producers and users of statistics to promote appreciation or awareness of the importance of statistics with emphasis on data quality, interpretation and analysis.

2.       To carry out data analysis on Poverty and Income followed by Reports based on Household Expenditure Survey.

 

3.       To produce Demographic Projections on Populations and Labour force.

 

4.       Enhance capacity in producing social statistics and develop staffs skill in analyzing census and surveys technique.

 

5.       Organise and design regular surveys example Labour force.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

a)            Possess a Bachelor Degree (Hons.) or its equivalent in any of the following subjects recognised by the Government of Brunei Darussalam:-

 

i)                    Plumbing and Pipe Fitting

ii)                   Hair Stylish

iii)                 Welding

iv)                 Vehicle Body Repair

v)                  Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Maintenance

 

Higher qualification in the above or related field is an advantage.

 

b)            Possess a Postgraduate Diploma/Certificate in Teaching or its equivalent.

 

c)             Has a minimum of five (5) years full time classroom teaching experience.

 

 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (TEACHER)

 

Successful candidates will be posted to Youth Development Centre to teach and train students in relevant subjects.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

a)       Possess a BSc Degree or its equivalent in Nutrition and Dietetics recognized by the Government of Brunei Darussalam and International Professional Bodies such as ‘Council of Professions Supplementary to Medicine’ in the United Kingdom.

 

b)      Possess a Postgraduate in Dietetics or its equivalent is an advantage.

 

c)       Has a minimum of one (1) year working experience in various areas of Clinical Dietetics after obtaining such qualifications.

 

 

 TERMS AND CONDITIONS

 

(a)    Fluent in English and Malay languages. Applicant who is not fluent in Malay language must be willing to learn the language while serving in Brunei Darussalam.

 

 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES [DIETICIAN]

 

1.        Responsible to Administrative Head and Senior Dieticians.

 

2.       To provide diet counselling to patients and their families for both in and out patients.

 

3.       To supervise and monitor therapeutic diets served to patients.

 

4.       To participate in health promotion program.

 

5.       To give lectures to health professionals, patients and general public whenever required.

 

6.       To participate in program/lectures for continual professional development.

a)      Possess a Bachelor’s Degree (Hons.) or its equivalent in Marine Studies / Nautical Science or other related field recognised by the Government of Brunei Darussalam.

 

Higher qualification in the above or related field is an advantage.

 

b)      Possess a Class 1 Certificate of Competency as a Deck Officer with a minimum experience of five (5) years as a Master.

 

c)       Good knowledge on IMO functions and conventions and in other international and regional organizations and bodies.

 

d)      Experience in ships registration, maritime training institution, conducting Port State Control inspections, maritime accident investigation or ISM/ISPS Codes auditing is an advantage.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

a)      Possess a Bachelor’s Degree (Hons.) or its equivalent in Naval Architecture / Mechanical / Marine Engineering or other related field in recognised by the Government of Brunei Darussalam.

 

Higher qualification in the above or related field is an advantage.

 

b)      Possess a Class 1 Certificate of Competency as an Engineer with a minimum experience of five (5) years as a Chief Engineer.

 

c)       Wide experience in ship’s survey and inspection and knowledgeable in classification of ships and related IMO Conventions.

 

d)      Experience in conducting Port State Control inspections, maritime accident investigation and ISM/ISPS Codes auditing is an advantage.
